Where do you store your food overnight when camping?

This can be a huge issue.

If I'm just car camping and the area isn't known to have an animal problem, then the food is stored in the car or on the campsite bench in a secure container or a cooler if necessary. It's definitely never brought in the tent, as it attracts animals.

Some places (Yosemite for example) however, have bears that will literally rip the doors off cars to get to the food. In situations like this it's a good idea to make what is called a bear bag. A bear bag basically a sack with all your food in it, with a rope on one end that you throw over a high tree branch so animals can't get to it. This is a very effective method. I've only heard one story about some fat rat that climbed down the rope and into the bag.
